Our Community Press – Free Publication for Clemmons, Lewisville and Pfafftown

Our Community Press

Published bi-monthly Our Community Press is an excellent community resource for events, news and promoting your business. The publication is available in Clemmons, Lewisville and Pfafftown. You can pick up a free copy from Southern Family Restaurant and Grandview Country Store.

Here’s the thing: There hasn’t been much involvement from the Pfafftown community and we need to change that. This is an existing resource for promoting our community and we need to be taking advantage of it.

Winston-Salem Northern Beltway on Schedule Again

If you live in Pfafftown, you should be following the development of the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway which is slated for construction in 2015. There have been several ‘scares’ over the years but now it looks like the process is starting to move forward.

“Based on NCDOT’s Urban Loop Acceleration Plan, the department is speeding up the purchase of property and the start of construction for a portion of the eastern section that stretches from U.S. 421/Business 40 to U.S. 158. This portion was previously unfunded and had no set schedules. The plan allowed right-of-way acquisition to begin in 2012 and construction to start in 2015. The accelerated schedule is made possible by Grant Anticipation Revenue, or GARVEE, bonds, which allow NCDOT to borrow against future federal funding.”

Community Labyrinth in Pfafftown

Community Labyrinth in Pfafftown

Community member Chris Williams is looking to utilize his seven-circuit neo-classically formed labyrinth as a community gathering place. The labyrinth is located on Doub property, 7th generation of original Pfafftown settlers.

Chris explains:

“The labyrinth concept is to create a community gathering space for neighbors to gather and re connect the spirit of those that have gone before. The physical labyrinth is designed in such a way as to invite earth energy up and torque that energy via the labyrinth and adjacent spring creek. There are many features to the labyrinth design including a 36″ copper Genesa crystal which amplifies earth energy via quartz crystals harvested from the property. As the community develops it is this concentration and re connection with history used to broadcast positive intention for the next generations.”

Come support the Pfafftown community and experience the same old barbershop environment today. Vienna Barbershop offers haircuts and shaves.
